For teachers: AI tools that save time
Teacher Talk with MystrS: Wayground (formerly Quizizz)
Checked October 25, 2026 (Pacific time). Tags: Cyber, AI. No vendor money and no affiliate links.
Best for: quizzes (AI generate, import, adapt), and differentiation through built-in accommodations.
Free vs paid
- Basic: free for every teacher (up to 100 students and 20 activities).
- Individual Plan: "billed annually $216 per year".
- School and District: quote.
Privacy
- Training: "With all of our AI providers, we have disabled their use of any Wayground user data for training their own large language models (LLMs)."
- Students and minimum age: "For users under the age of consent, we do not collect personal information as defined under COPPA". Wayground defines the U.S. age of consent as under 13.
- Compliance and DPA: the privacy policy (effective June 9, 2026) states compliance with COPPA and FERPA, and mentions DPAs with institutions and school districts in Canada; no U.S. DPA is named. AI tools default to teachers and admins only.
- SDPC: registry not checked (member login required); vendor statement only.
Time saved
Not measured.
Before you use it with students: check that it is on your district's approved list and that the district has signed a data agreement. See the hub page, Which AI Tool for Which Task, for the FERPA and COPPA basics.
